Weekly Breefs

AVI CLUB LOGOAWAVI WEEKLY BREEFS

Oh for the days when this club was just a bunch of misfits who loved aircraft , old trucks and bikes. Back then , there was nothing more to a meeting, than going to the Oxbow, having a few brews, onion rings, beating the Pac Man machine, and trying to get into one of the exon girls pants. The Christmas toy run, a turkey delivery run, and the two big road trips at least to us was the Boise Roadster Show, and/or the Salt Lake Autorama. Back then the two were 4 months apart, not just days apart like they are now.

Back then it was fun. Membership was small, by pledge, initiation and a year being a probby paying the club $50.00 a month, to prove loyalty.

That’s no longer the case, we grew. About the last 6 months of the end of the original run of the Dukes on CBS, a meeting was held, albeit during filming hiatus , but a meeting took place between myself, Steve and Russell President, Vee-Pee and Advisor. In the offices of R-E, Peterson of Peterson Publishing(Hot Rod, Car Craft, ) The others in the meeting was also with Gy Waldron, Paul Picard, and a rep from CBS/Warner Brothers.

The funding was agreed to, and over the next two years even though the Dukes went off of CBS, The Hazzard Knytes exploded. We went from about 150 members from three states, to well over 50,000 with a 1000 members in all 50 states.

Since then membership dwindled a bit, but the diehard members are still members, but in 1991 Bush senior sent a few of us to Iraq, since then many Knytes and Wolvez put on a uniform, and went to reek havoc on two dictators,.

In the latter part of 2004 due to family need, I was honorably transferred  to a joint training mission with HAFB in Utah. This allowed me to complete my final enlistment with the USMC, and still take care of family business.

In the latter part of 2005 with the final $250,000.00 of liquid funds of the Montgomery Foundation, My second cousins Gordon and Randy, and in 2005 AyreWolf Aviation was born in Bountiful Utah. During that same year, the BlackSheep Flyte Club, became the AyreWolvez and we opened the first Sheep’s Pen just outside of Morgan Utah. Dig this a bikini bar in very LDS restricted Morgan County. Yet can’t do anything in Idaho. Go figure. The going thought is always the Mormons, when in reality its not the Mormons at all, it’s the perceived fear of the reaction of Mormons that keeps some people from saying I’ll give this a try. It may interest some of ya’ll it was a LDS Bishop who was my supervisor at Deseret Transportation the churches trucking company, that flat said, I was the wolf in amongst the sheep, and I make sheep worry. The name and all has stuck. It’s a fact the LDS church is one of our biggest supporters.

Okay enough of that.

Sunday’s are a day in fact a weekend is supposed to be for rest recreation , but mostly rest. But not for Knytes or the Wolf Pack. The Wolf Pack has met, and it decided, that the bars are on suspension, pending the radio station operation and the media staff being assembled. The shop on Shoshone is a big maybe, I don’t see a reason myself, since the hangar can be a shop. From a pure economic point, would you rather build a hot Harley for $200,000.00 or restore an old Warbird for $15,million in return?

I think you understand. I have been dodging this for 7 years, due to NO hangar space anywhere in Idaho. Now that there is one, its in my priority list, AyreWolf Aviation Restoration and Repair, Dixie Toewing from the same location as the hangar, and doing what I can as long as I can until my written agreement with Charlie is up. Evaluate then. In the view of the Knytes/AyreWolvez, its more now for me AyreWolvez/Knytes. A bar for all the right reasons is a good project, but the two disasters with potential bar help, has made it where, unless that person is exceptional, the only way I’m hiring any gals is if they come in with a Marine or Navy background. Mostly a returning Vet. That also includes both Army and Air Force. The life lessons learned from being in the military, are extremely valuable. There is no such thing as it can’t be done, there is no thought of how much am I going to make in money doing this, its what needs to be done? Let’s get it done, and be proud of it, then worry about or count the cash.

I texted Ashley earlier, about a planning meeting in the AM Monday. Only reason I’m having one is I want to know her mindset. If she’s fully on board and ready to dig in even as maybe a part investor partner, on the bar etc, or to just give me the phone number and location of the office/studio she told me she dug up, and we call it good between her and I. She comes over picks up her money next week for house cleaning and happy trails.
Says she’ll be here.

I'll have more Breefs later, but I’m into a great flick, the wolvez are howling, so prowl in stealth.
